The Campaign Group Demands Urgent Government Action Amid Surge in Violent Riots Disguised as Protests

The Campaign Group urgently calls on the government to address the ongoing surge in violent riots disguised as protests. For several days, these riots have wreaked havoc on our streets, with a significant risk of continuing throughout the month of August. As we find ourselves in the school holiday season, the implications of this unrest are far-reaching and deeply concerning.

Despite the clear and present danger, parliamentarians remain divided in their condemnation, and the government has failed to take effective action. The cost of the cleanup will hit communities already struggling with economic challenges, further exacerbating their difficulties.

Law and order are breaking down, and it is imperative to regain control over the chaos unleashed by those intent on dividing our communities. Our politicians are failing the people, and there is an urgent need to establish a new democratic approach that prioritises the concerns of local communities at the heart of the changes they demand.

The Campaign Group believes that the government must:

  1. Increase Support and Resources for Police Forces: Our police need immediate access to additional funding, equipment, and manpower to manage and quell these riots effectively.
  2. Hold Elected Officials Accountable: Members of Parliament and other elected officials must be held to account for their inaction and failure to protect the public.
  3. Implement Stronger Measures Against Orchestrated Riots: There must be a thorough investigation into the sources and organisers behind these sustained protests, ensuring those responsible are brought to justice.
  4. Protect Our Communities: The safety and security of all citizens must be the highest priority. It is imperative that the government takes swift action to restore peace and order.

The Campaign Group stands in solidarity with the brave men and women of our police forces and calls on the government to act now. We cannot allow this wave of violence to continue unchecked. The time for action is now, and we must ensure the safety and future of our nation.
